Zionism—the word and the concept—has been hijacked almost everywhere since October 7. Now more than ever, we must show the beauty and diversity of Zionism. The truth is that Zionism builds bridges. It is about freedom. Zionism—inclusive and diverse— supports Israel, a nation where synagogues, mosques, and churches all share the same skyline.
The World Zionist Village—a global physical hub for new conversations on unity, destiny, shared values, and leadership, has been a long-time vision for Jewish National Fund-USA. Carol Shnier, on the executive committee for its development, described it as, “A global destination, bringing people together for a shared learning experience.”
The Village, located in Be’er Sheva and situated over 20 acres of land, is in its masterplan phase of development, projected to be built by 2028.
The Village design is planned to authentically connect to the history of the Negev, addressing global issues of sustainability, the environment, economy, and society, reflecting Jewish tradition and a pioneering modern heritage.
Intended for both the international community, as well as residents of Be’er Sheva and the Negev, the Village will include a multi-generational learning center, a Zionist Cultural Heritage Center, a Living Lab of Innovation, and an athletics and sports center, along with short- and long-term guest accommodations.
Programs led by world-class educators and facilitators will be infused with our history, heritage, pioneering spirit and endless innovation. It is the largest and most impactful Zionist project by Jewish National Fund-USA in collaboration and partnership with leaders in the community, and one that will leave a legacy for generations to come.
