Bio
Doreen Rappaport is the award-winning author of nearly 50 educational children’s books, including Beyond Courage: The Untold Story of Jewish Resistance During the Holocaust, which was selected as one of the best non-fiction books of 2012 by The New York Times, Jewish Image Magazine, and Tablet. Ms. Rappaport was awarded The Washington Post Children’s Book Guild Award for Lifetime Achievement for the writing of non-fiction, and has been a featured author at the National Portrait Gallery, National Book Festival, Smithsonian Museum of American History, and at state and national educational conferences. She regularly lectures on writing and about Jewish history at public libraries, Holocaust museums, national reading conferences, synagogues, and community centers.
