HaShomer HaChadash
Safeguarding The Land of Israel
Jewish National Fund-USA affiliate HaShomer HaChadash is a volunteer recruitment organization dedicated to safeguarding the land and farms in the Negev and Galilee and upholding Zionist ideals on which Israel was founded. HaShomer HaChadash is the largest volunteering movement in Israel, connecting over 250,000 volunteers to the land each each.
Since October 7 and the outbreak of war, HaShomer HaChadash has been instrumental in ensuring national food security for the land and people of Israel. Volunteers from all over the world, including those on Jewish National Fund-USA volunteer missions, have come to help farmers who have been impacted by loss of workers and the uncertainty of war.
Also underway is the expansion of a boarding school network to educate the next generation on the values of loving the land, and to strengthen high school students' connection to it while also providing the critical assistance farmers so desperately need.
This is the time to support the farmers and ensure that every vegetable and fruit picked reaches the Israeli market and that no farmer is left alone.
