A Recipe for Resilience
In times of crisis, Jewish National Fund-USA shines as a beacon of hope and resilience. One of the many inspiring stories comes from Shula, a small business owner in the Galilee region of Israel, whose gratitude for Jewish National Fund-USA's support reflects the organization's far-reaching impact.

Shula's Story: Cooking Hope Amidst Crisis

Shula, a chef and owner of a culinary business in the Galilee, recently shared her heartfelt appreciation with Jewish National Fund-USA CEO, Russell F. Robinson. She highlighted how Jewish National Fund-USA’s unwavering support enabled her to continue her work despite the challenging circumstances Israel faces today. Through her connection with the Western Galilee Now (WGN) Association, a Jewish National Fund-USA-supported initiative that fosters collaboration among local businesses, Shula was able to secure opportunities that bolstered her business during this difficult time.

In her message to Russell, Shula recounted a recent meeting with Yossi, the manager of Israel's iconic Carlton Hotel. Thanks to Jewish National Fund-USA and the efforts of Michal Shiloah Galnoor, Executive Director of Western Galilee Now, Shula was granted access to cook in the hotel's kitchen for a Winter Festival in Givatayim. This opportunity not only provided Shula with a platform to showcase her culinary talent but also opened doors for future collaborations, such as an upcoming pop-up event at the Carlton Hotel in January.

Supporting Small Businesses Through Western Galilee Now

Shula’s story is one of many examples of how Jewish National Fund-USA's investment in the Western Galilee Now Association strengthens local businesses and fosters regional tourism. WGN connects small business owners, artisans, and entrepreneurs in the Galilee, providing them with the resources, network, and exposure they need to thrive. Whether it’s organizing festivals, facilitating pop-up events, or creating marketing opportunities, WGN is a lifeline for businesses like Shula’s, especially during times of war and economic uncertainty.

Empowering Local Entrepreneurs

For Shula, being part of the Western Galilee Now Association has been transformative. Known for her unique culinary experiences that blend traditional Galilean flavors with a personal touch, she has become a symbol of resilience and creativity. The association, supported by Jewish National Fund-USA, has enabled her to overcome logistical challenges, expand her reach, and continue her work in promoting the Galilee as a hub for tourism and culture.

A Message of Gratitude

Shula extended her gratitude to Jewish National Fund-USA not only for their support of her business but also for their broader contributions to the land and people of Israel. From aiding war weary communities to organizing events and fostering tourism, Jewish National Fund-USA’s work underscores their deep commitment to strengthening Israel’s economy and spirit.

“I am proud to be part of such an association (WGN) with your support,” Shula wrote, encapsulating the sentiment of many small business owners who have found hope and opportunity through Jewish National Fund-USA’s initiatives.

The Bigger Picture

Jewish National Fund-USA’s dedication to empowering small businesses like Shula’s is part of a broader vision to enhance the economic and social fabric of Israel’s northern and southern regions. By investing in infrastructure, tourism, and community programs, Jewish National Fund-USA ensures that small businesses are not only able to survive but also thrive, contributing to the growth and vibrancy of the land and people of Israel.

As Shula’s story illustrates, the impact of Jewish National Fund-USA’s work extends beyond economic support. It is about building connections, fostering resilience, and showing unwavering solidarity with the people of Israel. Through initiatives like the Western Galilee Now Association, Jewish National Fund-USA is helping to create a brighter future for small businesses, their communities, and the nation as a whole.

In challenging times, stories like Shula’s remind us of the power of community and the profound difference that organizations like Jewish National Fund-USA can make.
