SAN DIEGO, October 31, 2024—Several hundred San Diegans united at Jewish National Fund-USA’s “All in for Israel” event on Sunday, October 13, 2024, at the Del Mar Fairgrounds & Racetrack, to honor the resilience of the people of Israel and learn how the organization is leading crucial rebuilding efforts in the country’s North and South.

Veteran Israeli diplomat and current Senior Vice President of Jewish Broadcasting Service, Shahar Azani, who previously served in Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs for over 15 years and is a former Executive Director for the Northeast Region at StandWithUs, was the event’s keynote speaker.
Azani’s keynote speech focused on crucial topics including lessons for a post-October 7 world, skyrocketing antisemitism, Israel's status at the United Nations (UN), and his vision for a path forward.
Local lay leaders, including Event Chairs Myra Chack Fleischer, Mia Babson Goldklang, and William Rosenbaum, also provided an update about Jewish National Fund-USA’s Israel Resilience Campaign and “Build Together” plan to revitalize the impacted southern Israeli communities, providing the infrastructure and quality of life needed to allow residents to feel safe coming home.

“We are not passive bystanders; we are active defenders of our People, united as one voice, one heart, declaring loudly that we are ‘All in for Israel,’” said Event Chair William Rosenbaum. “It is truly awe-inspiring to see this paddock filled with proud Jews, allies, and defenders of freedom.”
“Today and every day, we stand on the shoulders of our ancestors, who for millennia prayed for the safety and prosperity of our people and the redemption of our Jewish homeland,” added Event Chair Myra Chack Fleischer. “We are part of an unbroken chain of hope and faith. As we face some of the greatest challenges in Israel’s modern history, your commitment to the people of Israel is a continuation of that chain—an unshakable bond that has carried our people through exiles, wars, persecutions, and genocides. Nothing and no one will ever, or has ever, extinguished our spirit and will to survive and thrive.”

Other event highlights included the Mayor of San Diego, Todd Gloria, proclaiming October 13 was “Jewish National Fund-USA Day,” and a moving musical performance by San Diego-based Israeli singer Shanee Zamir.
“Community has always been the heartbeat of the Jewish people—a story of survival, hope, and resilience,” said Jewish National Fund-USA San Diego Regional President, Jacqui Schneider. “Against all odds, through the most challenging and darkest times, we have endured because of our unwavering connection to one another. The brutal attacks of October 7, 2023, and the ongoing threats orchestrated by Iran and its proxies, remind us of the challenges we still face. Even in the face of these trials, our unity has never been more important, and our determination has never been stronger.”
