Bio
As Deputy Director for Eretz Ir, Tamar Gil promotes community resilience in Israel’s Negev and Galilee by encouraging civic activism and the creation of businesses that have a social impact. She has shaped the partnership between Eretz Ir, Jewish National Fund-USA, and the Lauder Employment Center, which promotes high quality employment in Israel’s frontier regions to keep talented young adults in the Negev and Galilee, attract new families to build their homes there, and draw new businesses and startups to these areas. The Lauder Center provides comprehensive career services and internships to Negev college alumni, assists with the relocation of hi-tech professionals to the Galilee, and strengthens the local economy through its Small Business Association. Tamar completed an extended service in the Israeli Air Force as commander of air-picture operators, has a BSW from the Hebrew University and an MBA in Social Leadership from Ben Gurion University.
