Bio

Matan BenGigi was born in Jerusalem and completed a five-year tour of duty in a special operations unit of the Israeli Navy spending the last two years of his service as a Commander. He led the rigorous physical, educational, ethical and technical  challenges of their training, while stressing character building, increasing resilience, strategic thinking and communal responsibility. Matan majored in Political Science and Jewish Philosophy at the Hartman Institute High School in Jerusalem and participated in the pre-army gap leadership year program located adjacent to the Gaza border. He then served as a volunteer at a Special Education school “Ilanot” for teens with severe disabilities.
