Bio

Karnit Goldwasser’s husband Ehud "Udi" Goldwasser was captured with another army reservist by Hezbollah in July 2006. The abduction sparked the 2006 Lebanon War, which claimed 1,000 Israeli and Lebanese lives. Neither solider was returned, nor confirmed dead or alive, after the United Nations negotiated a cease fire between the Israeli military and Hezbollah forces. Karnit traveled around the globe campaigning for the release of her husband only to find out he was dead when his body was returned to Israeli authorities in a prisoner swap in July 2008.
