Bio
Avshalom Vilan is an Israeli peace activist, politician, and leader of the Kibbutz Movement. He co-founded Peace Now, the largest and longest-standing Israeli movement advocating for peace through public pressure, and has since served as its press liaison officer, international representative, and spokesperson. In 1996 he was elected in national primaries as the General Secretary of KAF, where he merged the two Kibbutz movements TAKAM and KAF into one: The Kibbutzim Movement.He was elected to the Knesset as a member of Meretz in 1999 and served for a decade. Mr. Vilan is currently the Secretary General of the Israeli Farmer’s Federation.
