Jeremy Dauber
Bio
Jeremy Dauber is the Atran Professor of Yiddish Language, Literature, and Culture at Columbia University, where he also served as director of the Institute for Israel and Jewish Studies and teaches in the American Studies Program. Dauber has authored several books on Jewish culture, comedy, and literature, including The Worlds of Sholem Aleichem and Jewish Comedy: A Serious History, both of which were nominated for the National Jewish Book Award. While at Oxford University on a Rhodes Scholarship, Dauber wrote a libretto, featured in a Boston Opera and a movie that played at Cannes. Dauber has also written for The Christian Science Monitor about TV and movies, an effort that was recognized by the National Society of Newspaper Columnists.
